When I started learning about neural nets in the summer of 2016, I was disappointed in the quality of the tutorials out there. There were many tutorials with great coding examples, and other tutorials with good explanations of the math, but there weren’t many with both. So, about six months later, I started writing my own.
I was fortunate to be invited to speak at the bi-monthly luncheon Chicago Chapter of the American Statistical Association on September 12, 2017 at the East Bank Club in Chicago. About 60 people attended the $30/ticket event. The video of the talk is online here.
I've written several blog posts walking through the construction of basic neural nets from scratch.
I have given several talks on this subject; the notebooks from these talks are contained in a repository here. These are not particularly "cleaned up", but I intend to clean these up and write a guide to going through them in the near future.
